About
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is William Jones. I have always been a man of ideals and goals. My desire to serve our community has brought me to seek the office of circuit court clerk. This decision did not come without great consideration. I have 24 years of law enforcement experience, which included arraignments, and paperwork for the courts. I have a genuine desire to serve this community where I have lived my entire life. My family has a strong history of service to the county which goes back 114 years, and I would like to continue that legacy. It is my desire to make a difference. My passion for helping people and this community made this an easy decision. My law enforcement career has given me a unique understanding of the importance of the Circuit Court Clerk’s position. My experience as a small business owner will bring much needed change and fairness to an office that has recently been a place for nepotism.
I will begin by making sure my team is trained to do their job, and do it well. I will demand an upgrade in the quality of service, because we are public servants, after all. The Court Clerk’s office should be more efficient and friendly, and make the best use of current technology to offer easy access to all non-confidential records on-line while being a good public steward. I want to help bring in “fresh ideas and positive solutions” to the clerk’s office and would take steps to make its website more user friendly. I would continue to improve on electronic records by trying to tie the present system (electronically) with the Sheriff’s office, State Attorney and Public Defender, within the full parameters the law allows. This would make all functions of the courthouse run more smoothly and efficiently.
As your elected steward of the office of Circuit Court Clerk, I will seek more efficient methods of managing the office, reduce unnecessary spending of tax payer’s money, and promote better working relations between the Law Enforcement community and the court system. I will take suggestions and ideas from those who use the Clerk’s office to heart so I can implement improvements where possible. I will provide hands on leadership by learning and utilizing the individual strengths of each employee in the Clerk’s office to guarantee efficiency and care to the citizens who use the office. I will be courteous, dedicated, honest, and my staff will be expected to be kind to all citizens.
I will be a working circuit court clerk, not just hold the title. This time the people have a choice for Circuit Court Clerk. I want to be that choice. Government for the people, by the people.
